Clinical emergency experience meets software automation - bringing a technical edge to modern veterinary practice.
I'm a 5th-year veterinary student at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UniVet), studying in English. I'm Israeli, based in Budapest, finishing a 5-year program spanning basic sciences through full clinical rotations - small animals, equine, farm animals, surgery, and emergency. Outside the clinic I build automation scripts, run my own home network, and use AI tools daily. I like building systems - whether that's a diagnostic workup for a complex case or a workflow that saves me three hours of repetitive work. I'm always looking for what's inefficient and thinking about how to fix it - maybe it's an Israeli thing, but I'd rather build a solution than just live with the problem.
Intensive 30-day clinical placement at an emergency and specialty referral centre in Israel. Gained multidisciplinary exposure across ICU, Oncology, Neurology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, and Surgery. Notable cases included protein-losing enteropathy, venomous snake bite management, heat stroke, and GDV.
Read the rotation notesMandatory field rotation as part of the UniVet Budapest curriculum (semesters 7–9). Provided veterinary care to small animals outside the university clinic - house calls, farm visits, and community cases. Developed flexibility, independent clinical decision-making, and client communication in uncontrolled field environments.
Clinical rotations covering systematic diagnostic approaches, case workup, laboratory interpretation, and management of chronic and acute systemic disease.
Leveraging frontier AI tools (Gemini, Claude, NotebookLM) for knowledge management, research synthesis, and clinical study note generation. Built a pipeline that organizes my own recorded lectures and course materials by subject and feeds them into NotebookLM as structured sources, and helping classmates set up the same system so their notebooks stay focused on university content instead of drifting off-topic.
Python scripts and shell automation for workflow optimization - data processing, file management, and repetitive task elimination.
Self-built and personally managed home network - routing, VLANs, DNS, and infrastructure. Hands-on technical ownership from the ground up.
Building native macOS/iOS apps in Swift and SwiftUI outside of coursework - a home-lab dashboard for managing virtual machines, remote devices, and encrypted cloud sync; a media toolkit wrapping ffmpeg for stream diagnostics and format conversion; and a native player built as a faster alternative to a slower Electron app.
